Bryson Nominated for Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame

Clarkesville native Steve Bryson, of The Steve Bryson Band, will be honored at the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame on Nov. 24 at the DoubleTree by Hilton.

According to his invitation, the honor is presented to him in recognition of his contributions and achievements in the country music industry.

“I’m gonna be honest with you … I was just kind of dumbfounded,” Bryson said when he learned about the invitation. “I didn’t know that anybody at that level was even looking at me … But it was a pretty dang good feeling.”

Eight years ago, the American singer, songwriter and musician began to pursuecountry music. According to his website, stevebrysonband.com, Bryson’s style is considered “a blend of Southern Rock,Blues, Gospel and Traditional Country.”

Some of his top songs include: “Bad Case of Country,” “Budweiser Kisses” and “Girls Down South.”

Bryson currently has two new singles in the works, “If Only,” and “Son of the South” which he said will hopefully be released by Jan. 1, 2019.

Bryson currently works a daytime job but is always working tirelessly so he can one day make a living on just his music.

“I never don’t work on music … ,” he said. “ … there’s band practice, social media, there’s meetings, bookings, working the store on the website.”

Bryson has been signed with TMG Record Label for at least six years. He mentioned that he has never received any awards during his career in country music, but he has opened for some notable musicians.

The Clarkesville native has opened for acts such as The Bellamy brothers, George Jones, Ronnie Milsap, Larry Gatlin, Chris Young and Joe Diffie.

Bryson said George Jones has been his favorite so far because he feels he most identifies with Jones.

Bryson’s latest performances included Loganville Chili Cook Off and the Loganville American Legion Nov. 10; and the Crimson Moon in Dahlonega on Nov. 17.

Habersham Countians will be able to see The Steve Bryson Band perform at Grant Street Music Room in Clarkesville on the weekend of Jan. 18 2019.

He added that the Steve Bryson Band is expecting some “extensive” tours in 2019. “Its an … awesome ride … it’s been great,” he said reflecting on his career so far.

Bryson currently lives in Clarkesville with his wife/manager Natalie Gardiner and three boys Luke, Alex and Michael
